Travere Therapeutics Filspari (sparsentan) $TVTX

for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis

NDA

FDA approved Filspari (sparsentan) to reduce proteinuria in adult and pediatric patients with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

About

Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a kidney disease where scarring damages the filters that keep protein from leaking into urine, often leading to swelling and eventual kidney failure. Sparsentan blocks two key receptors (endothelin and angiotensin) that drive inflammation and scarring in kidney tissue. By simultaneously calming both pathways, Filspari may slow the protein loss that pushes FSGS patients toward dialysis.

Pivotal trial

DUPLEX Phase 3 completed NCT03493685

To determine the long-term nephroprotective potential of treatment with sparsentan as compared to an angiotensin receptor blocker in patients with primary and genetic focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS).
