Travere Therapeutics Filspari (sparsentan) $TVTX

for focal segmental glomerulosclerosis

NDA

FDA approved Filspari (sparsentan) to reduce proteinuria in adult and pediatric patients with focal segmental glomerulosclerosis.

About

Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis is a kidney disease that scars the organ’s internal filtering units, leading to harmful protein loss in the urine and often progressing to kidney failure. Filspari (sparsentan) is a single molecule designed to simultaneously block two biological pathways that cause blood vessels to constrict and promote scar tissue formation. By tackling these dual drivers of kidney damage, this treatment may potentially slow the disease's progression and help protect long-term kidney function.

Pivotal trial

DUPLEX Phase 3 completed NCT03493685

To determine the long-term nephroprotective potential of treatment with sparsentan as compared to an angiotensin receptor blocker in patients with primary and genetic focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS).
